GRAMMY’s Music Educator Award
posted by: Cindy Omlin | February 11, 2013, 11:22 PM

In honor of the GRAMMY awards and grateful musicians everywhere, the Recording Academy in partnership with National Association for Music Education has announced a new music teacher award program. Organizers are calling both students and music teacher colleagues to nominate their favorite teacher by April 15th to be recognized for their remarkable impact.

As their website suggests, for every performer who makes it to the GRAMMY stage, there was a teacher who played a critical role in getting them there. Whether they introduced a student to their first instrument, or helped a student overcome stage freight, music teachers make a difference every day!

The contest will recognize 10 excellent music teachers. The winner will be flown to Los Angeles to accept the award and attend the GRAMMYs, plus pick up a $10,000 honorarium. All finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium as well.

Help thank the amazing educators that inspire us all to love music!
