| Hope, ID, Teacher Awarded NWPE New Classroom Start Up Grant |

Congratulations to Ms. Nancy Schmid, an NWPE member and first grade teacher at Hope Elementary School, in Hope, ID. NWPE Executive Director Cindy Omlin presented Ms. Schmid with a New Classroom Start-Up Grant for $250 at an afternoon staff collaboration meeting on Wednesday, March 6.
Ms. Schmid explained how she came to know of and appreciate Northwest Professional Educators saying, “NWPE came to talk with my cohort at Lewis-Clark in Post Falls last summer to inform us of the benefits NWPE provides. I felt as a first time teacher it was important for me to take advantage of all the memberships to help me in my teaching. The advantage NWPE provides will help me and my students to achieve our best. I am grateful for this organization and their support of the teaching profession.”
Northwest Professional Educators is happy to provide New Classroom Start-Up Grants to support passionate educators like Ms. Schmid who work hard to provide the best educational program possible for all their students.

Ms. Schmid stated, “I am fulfilling a lifetime dream of being a teacher with a classroom filled with smiling, caring, and joyful first graders. I’m excited to start my teaching career in this wonderful school with the glorious name of ‘Hope.’ This grant from Northwest Professional Educators will help me fill my classroom with helpful organizers and colorful fun-filled visuals to help my students and their families.”
