We are proud to announce that the following teachers have been awarded Fall 2014 NWPE Grant/Scholarship awards. Please click the links to learn more about the teachers and their awards.
Bryce Mercer, a Middle and High School Physical Science and Chemistry teacher at Sage International School, in Boise, ID, was awarded $500 to purchase six Vernier gas pressure sensors in order to increase students' access to scientific inquiry opportunities.
Wendie Munoz, an English and U.S. Government teacher at Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls, ID, was awarded a $500 grant to fund the purchase of technology to enable students to complete digital portfolios that will help them learn through technology as well as enhance technological skills in preparation for college and career endeavors.
Chad Harris, a 5th grade teacher at Blackfoot Charter Community Learning Center, was awarded a $500 grant to enhance his humanities curriculum.
Jennifer Capell, a 3rd-4th grade teacher at Idaho Arts Charter School in Nampa, ID, was awarded a $500 grant to fund the purchase of two Chromebooks so that students can utilize Khan Academy resources which can be tailored to their individual learning needs.
Matthew Wysock, LaCrosse High School Science Teacher, was awarded $420 to purchase a radio transmitter, tracking program and programming cables to help students track the school's high altitude weather balloon's altitude, velocity and position used in the science program's near-space engineering project.
