Teachers are often confused about charter schools and the support available to them.  Cut through the confusion!  On Tuesday, March 31, 7-8 pm at the Compass Charter School in Meridian, ID, the Idaho Charter School Network, charter administrators and NWPE are hosting an informational meeting for professional educators regarding public charter schools.

As a professional educator, have you ever wondered?

  • Do charter school students pay tuition?
  • Do charter school teachers have to be certified?
  • Do charter school teachers receive PERSI benefits?
  • Do charter school students have to take the SBAC?
  • Is there a professional organization that supports charter school educators?

These questions and many more will be answered during this informational meeting.

     When: Tuesday, March 31, 2015, 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Where: Compass Public Charter School, 2511 W. Cherry Lane, Meridian, ID 83642
Who: Any and all certified educators with a curiosity

The format of the meeting is an open forum with a panel of leaders in Idaho’s charter school movement to answer all of the questions you may have about Idaho’s public charter schools.  NWPE Regional Director Brenda Miller will be sharing the professional protection and support available to charter school educators.

See here for more details about the forum and here for the flyer Twelve Things About Idaho Charter Schools.

Run! Do NOT buy in to charters! This is not Democracy.

I was enticed. If corrupt people show up - your altruism will be for nothing. It can be amazing to have autonomy, but shifts quickly when 'accountability' threatens doing the right things for children.

Actual public schools remain the only ones required to serve ALL students. It's heartbreaking- watching the others be cast out.

You have no reason to trust me - except that it's true.
