 Ms. Horne shared that in her education classes, she was taught to join a professional teaching association. So, when she moved from Texas to Idaho, she joined NWPE during her first year of teaching in the Northwest. She appreciates her NWPE membership because it helps her stay informed of current education issues and she knows she is supported as a teacher. NWPE awards classroom grants and teacher scholarships up to $500. The deadline for spring 2012 applications is March 31. Teachers can apply online at NWPE's website.
