posted by: Cindy Omlin | May 09, 2012, 08:17 PM

As you know, AAE is not only a committed supporter of American educators but of charter schools as well. As the leader of the national non-union educator movement, AAE is committed to supporting teachers in all education settings by promoting professionalism, collaboration and excellence in the profession. This week is a special occasion for all of our members.

In commemoration of this important week in education, AAE's Executive Director Gary Beckner released the following statements:

"Everyone can point to a teacher that has had a significant impact on their life. Educators inspire success and empower generations. In recognition of National Teacher Appreciation Week, let us take this opportunity to thank and recognize the hard work of American teachers everywhere. AAE is proud to support teachers across the country, this week and always."

"This week, AAE is thrilled to recognize the growing charter school community and the efforts of those involved with creating these innovative institutions. In 2012 alone, we have seen tremendous strides in expansion of charter schools across the country. AAE joins with parents and students to express gratitude for the teachers, administrators, and leaders who make these life-changing schools possible. Your work will have an impact for years to come."
