As you know, AAE is not only a committed supporter of hard-working teachers but of public charter schools as well. As the leader of the national non-union educator movement, AAE is committed to supporting teachers in all education settings by promoting professionalism, collaboration and excellence without a partisan agenda. This week is a special occasion for all of our members!

In commemoration of this important week in education, AAE's Executive Director Gary Beckner released the following statements:

"Everyone can pinpoint a remarkable teacher who made a considerable impact on their lives – both academically and personally. During National Teacher Appreciation Week, we encourage stakeholders across the country to celebrate educators who change lives, ignite passions, and set positive examples everyday for their students. The Association of American Educators commends teachers who give their lives to their students. Your work is not forgotten and is greatly appreciated!

"This week, AAE is pleased to recognize the growing public charter school community and the efforts of those involved in stewarding these innovative institutions. In the past few months, we have seen tremendous strides in expansion of charter schools across the country and we eagerly anticipate further advancements in the charter school movement. AAE joins with parents and students in thanking these teachers and administrators who make these life-changing schools possible.”
