Wenatchee World recently featured Waterville students, Justin and the program's success in "Students taking charge of their education in Waterville."  The program helps students learn to apply the same principles that have helped businesses thrive to meet their own personal and educational goals.  Rufus Woods recently editorialized, “If you want to be inspired about education, make a beeline to this community.”

A few years ago, Justin also led his colleagues to learn more about their options for teacher representation by bringing Northwest Professional Educators in to educate staff about the "local only" teacher association model for bargaining partnered with NWPE's nonbargaining support such as liability, legal, and other professional resources.  After exploring the
advantages of this model, the teachers voted to decertify their local association from the WEA and NEA and established the Waterville Teacher Leadership Council as their new bargaining representative.  Most of the teachers opted for NWPE membership as well.

Congratulations and thank you to Justin for his exceptional professional leadership and for inspiring students and teachers alike to embrace responsibility and accountability.
