laurent motte clipThe comics are useful learning tools as they provide a plethora of idioms and inviting dialogue which integrates with Mr. Motte’s methodology of “Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling.”      The comics will be shared with all six world language teachers.

Mr. Motte is a longtime member of NWPE.  He cites his primary reasons for joining as the ability to exercise his freedom of conscience not to be a union member that funds a political/social agenda with which he does not agree.  Having a choice of professional associations, he believes, benefits teachers, students, and public education as a free marketplace of ideas because teacher choice will challenge the big teachers’ unions to come up with practical solutions to problems and focus their work on academic, physical, and artistic education rather than political education of teachers and students. He believes that the pursuit of teacher professionalism should be separated from bargaining rights related to job benefits, job security and retirement.

Congratulations again to Mr. Motte!  We appreciate your hard work and creativity in the classroom!
