Thanksgiving Resources for Teachers
posted by: Cindy Omlin | November 16, 2012, 11:40 PM

  • The Library of Congress has a primary source set for Thanksgiving.  Most of these are images, so they’re useful for any age group.
  • Plimoth Plantations website has several activities for kids, including a Virtual Field Trip.
  • Readwritethink.org has several activities and lessons for Thanksgiving.
  • Scholastic has lessons, worksheets, online activities and more.
  • The National Museum of the American Indian provides lesson ideas that provide the American Indian perspective.
  • Teaching History has a number of Thanksgiving resources.
  • PBS provides resources designed to go along with the first episode of We Shall Remain, but some might be interesting as a stand-alone.  We Shall Remain is available on iTunes download, Netflix instant streaming, Amazon Video on Demand, and DVD.

We hope you’ve found something useful and we wish you a happy and restful Thanksgiving!
