Planning committee members include those pictured here from left to right: Brenda Miller, NWPE; Lindsay Russell Dexter, Idaho Freedom Foundation; Suzanne Metzgar, Amy Russell, and Angel Gonzalez from BLUUM and Idaho Charter School Network. Additional committee members include Jane Wittmeyer and Mark Goddard of the Idaho Charter Schools Families; Susan Luke for Compass Charter Academy; Suzi Budge, SBS and Associates; and, Michelle Clement Taylor, Idaho State Department of Education. An education session including breakfast and lunch will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Basque Center,601 W. Grove St. in Boise. Following the education session, there will be a Rally on the Capitol steps from noon until 1:00 p.m., 700 W. Jefferson St. We are very proud that Shawna Exline, NWPE member and West Ada 2016 Teacher of the Year, will be speaking about the value of school choice to students and to teachers! Last year’s rally was fabulously fun and this one will prove no different! Expect a lively crowd which will include a dance performance of the National School Choice Week dance by students covered with yellow school choice week scarves. It’s a colorful and vibrant experience! Catch the students excitement as they celebrate choices that meet their needs as diverse learners. Thank you to the additional organizations sponsoring Idaho’s 2016 Idaho School Week events including Idaho Virtual Academy, Compass Charter School, Learn Storm Idaho, Idaho Virtual Academy, and the Idaho Option Network.
