Congratulations to Ms. Wendie Muñoz, an English and U.S. Government teacher at Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls, ID.  Brenda Miller, NWPE Regional Director for Idaho, recently awarded a $500 grant to Wendie to fund the purchase of technology to enable students to complete digital portfolios that will help them learn through technology as well as enhance technological skills in preparation for college and career endeavors.

wendie munoz brenda millerWendie is an advocate for advancing teacher professionalism in order to enhance respect for the profession of education.  "I believe that educators should constantly strive for personal professional development and maintain a progressive approach to both learning and teaching.  By setting a standard of excellence in which educators want to continually learn, change, grow, and progress, others will respect and look up to the field of education for inspiration and courage to do the same."

A member of Northwest Professional Educators, Ms. Muñoz joined NWPE for its professional support.  “I wanted to be a member of a professional organization where I could network with other professional educators, gain professional development, and receive classroom support.  I appreciate the fact that I have a choice because this eliminates a monopoly on resources and allows me to find an organization that best matches and suits both my professional and academic needs.”

We appreciate all Wendie does to make her classes relevant and effective for her students and for taking the extra effort to seek funds to better equip her classroom.  Congratulations, Wendie!
